The table below is the full version of the edited table published as Table 1 in the article, “Nightingale’s overlooked Scutari statistics”, by Hugh Small, found on pages 28-33 of our December 2020 print magazine.
Data is reproduced and expanded from a table found in an annex to Nightingale’s confidential report on the Crimean War, enabling a comparison of outcomes at hospitals in Scutari and Crimea for the period from October 1854 to April 1855. Note that the data set below is adjusted to combine some army units for which individual figures were not given in Nightingale’s original.
